StumbleUpon Positve Reputation Content

StumbleUpon is a great tool in generating positive content. I have filled many search results pages with content using this tool alone.
This is an easy to find websites that encourage comments and user accounts. These sites are typically submitted to StumpleUpon to gain search engine traffic. By surfing through different topics and types of sites, you get a good diversity of content with your name attached to it. You get the added benefit of seeing some very interesting sites too.
What you will accomplish by using StumbleUpon is to create positve content in search engine results pages. This should effectively push back alot of bad content (if it exists) and fill it with whatever you want.
Here are simple steps to installing and using StumbleUpon as a reputation management tool.

  1. Get StumbleUpon  by following this link to their site http://www.stumbleupon.com/
  2. Click Sign Up now.
  3. Easy so far. After signing up, you get to the Get the Toolbar Link. Get it.
  4. Select your interests and 'stumble'. A note here; you can select whatever topics you want. I would recommend thinking about what topics you select, as these will provide you with the websites you will be associating your name with. The entire site's content is not as important as the meta description of the site, since your comment and the description/title of the site is what will show up in the search result pages.
  5. Currently, the limit is 127 topics, so pics the ones you want to use, deselect some to get more. You can change these later so don't get caught up just becasue you don't get all the topics you want.
  6. Start Stumbling! Click the Stumble button on the top left of you browser.
  7. On each page you Stumble onto, look for a place to either add a comment or create an account. If it's a comment box, be sure to write a comment that gives the world the message you want. Also, if there's a box for it, you can place a link to an online profile or personal website you want to display.
  8. If the page requires you to creat an account, do so, even though comment boxes are easier, and fill out just a sentenc or two of something you want to describe you.
  9. Be sure to make each comment unique and relevant to the site's content. If not, your comment may be regarded as spam and deleted.
  10. Happy Stumbling!

Spend a few hours doing this with some regularity, and once you have posted 20 or 30 comments, you will begin to see these popping up in the search results when you do a search on your name. Once you get some results, you will want to try some of the other techniques I'll post here.
